Hi, I am having a lot of difficulty finding a driver circuit diagram suitable for my Red Laser Diode with the following specifications:
Operating Voltage= 2.4v ; Operating Current= 40mA ; Power Rating= 10mW ; Threshold Current= 24mA ; Size= TO-18 (5.6mm) ; Wavelength= 655nm. I would like to use a preferable Input Voltage= 3volts if possible. I have seen a lot of circuits and they all use a LM317 with some resistors and sometimes some capacitors, but nothing to suit the diode I have.
I need a proper circuit diagram that works, with all component values specified.
Can someone please help me with this?
Hey B.Aswinth Raj,
thank you for the prompt reply. The article on the laser diode is fantastic and has a defined circuit that works.
cheers
Henry.

Did you check the above project? You can use the same circuit diagram with same value of components. Adjust the pot to get your desired output voltage (2.4V) and then connect your LASER. It will work just fine
